About the game

A familiar word, seen through a slot.

Ngramble gives you a strange-looking fragment from the middle of a familiar word. Rebuild the word around it in no more than five actions.

How to play

1. Type the letters for the empty positions. Given letters and known green letters are skipped automatically.
2. Submit a valid complete word to receive green, yellow and grey feedback.
3. Or tap an empty position and press Enter to reveal its correct letter. A reveal costs one action.
4. Your fifth action must be a word.

One new puzzle arrives at local midnight. Your record stays in this browser, and there are no accounts or leaderboards.

Why Ngramble?

The idea began with CANDLELIGHT split so that its middle looked like DLEL. Once familiar words are viewed through tiny slots, their middles become surprisingly alien.
